A beginner tumbling class warming up
RECREATIONAL TUMBLING
Iowa Gym-Nest offers a wide variety of tumbling classes for beginner through advanced tumblers who do not wish to compete. These classes are also great for cheerleaders to work on their backhandsprings, saltos, and aerials. We are the only local gym to have in-ground trampolines, pits, and overhead spotting rigs to provide the safest training. Our USAG trained teachers will help your child (or you!) learn tumbling skills in a step by step, progressive manner.

COMPETITIVE POWER TUMBLING
The photo gallery requires at least Flash version 9.0.28.
Iowa Gym-Nest offers competitive power tumbling for students that wish to concentrate exclusively on the tumbling aspect of gymnastics and would like a competitive experience. Team members practice once, or twice a week for 60 to 90 minutes. They compete in local, state and national competitions.
Power tumbling offers competitions for all skill and age levels and is a excellent way for students to enjoy a positive competitive experience without dedicating as many hours per week towards training that is required in traditional artistic gymnastics.
Iowa Gym-Nest is associated with the USTA and the AAU for power tumbling competitions.
Level 1/2 Classes are for beginning and intermediate skill level students. Skills include rolling, cartwheels/round-offs,
walkovers, and handsprings. Level 1/2 classes are 60 minutes once or twice/week: Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-6:30 at our Coralville location.
Level 3/4 Classes are for more advanced tumblers. Students must be able to do Back Handsprings prior to joining this class.
Skills worked on include multiple back handsprings, back and front saltos, whips, and twisting. Level 3/4 classes are 90 minutes - two classes per week are recommended, but not required.
Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-8:00 at our Coralville location.
