| The Iowa Gym-Nest offers
one of the largest Taekwon-do programs in the area focusing
primarily on children. Instruction is available beginning at age 5
through adult. Our Taekwon-Do program is conducted at our
Coralville location. We have a dedicated, air-conditioned martial
arts room with padded flooring and mirrored walls. This helps
create an optimal and safe learning environment for young children
and adults alike. |

Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art that emphasizes jumping and
kicking. Like any other art form proficiency is achieved by
mastering the basics. Proper attention to correct technique may
seem tedious at the beginning but will prove invaluable at later
stages of development. Taekwon-Do develops strength, power,
flexibility, endurance and coordination. It is excellent for large
motor coordination. It encourages courtesy, self-control,
self-discipline, perseverance and self-confidence. Our instructors
are committed to providing quality Taekwon-Do instruction. Their
goal is to provide stimulating and fun instruction without
compromising mastery of fundamental techniques.
Ned Ashton and the Hawkeye Taekwon-do Club provide our curriculum,
and staff. As the founder of Hawkeye Taekwon-do Ned has over 30
years of teaching experience. By teaming with Hawkeye Taekwon-Do
we are able to provide proven curriculum and continuity of expert
instruction that are completely in agreement with our mission to
“develop happy, healthy, confident children by providing the best
sports instruction available.”
